On this page, I'll show you how you can use all the stamps that you download from this site within SnagIt 9 -- there's a similar tutorial available for SnagIt 8 users.

All stamps you download from this site are ZIP files that you need to unarchive -- when you unarchive the ZIP file to a folder, you'll find several PNG files, and a EULA file -- your use of these PNGs is subject to the info in the EULA. And yes, the PNGs are the stamps for SnagIt!

Follow these steps to install these PNGs as stamps in SnagIt 9:

  1. Go to your Windows Start menu and choose All Programs | SnagIt 9 | SnagIt 9, as shown in Figure 1 below to launch SnagIt (ignore this step if SnagIt is already open).

  2. This open the SnagIt 9 interface that you can see in Figure 2. Click the SnagIt Editor option (highlighted in red) on the top left of the interface.

Tip: You can also open SnagIt 9 Editor from the SnagIt group in Windows Start Menu (see Figure 1 above).

  3. This brings up the SnagIt Editor that you can see in Figure 3.

SnagIt Editor opens without any image -- if you want you can open another image as I did for this tutorial (I used the Graph backdrop image).

  4. Now choose the Stamp button from the Draw tab of the Ribbon, as shown in Figure 4. You'll notice that as soon as you select the Stamps tool, you will see the Stamps gallery on within the Styles groups (compare the Ribbon in Figure 3 to Figure 4).

The Stamps gallery includes thumbnails of all SnagIt stamps installed in your system.

  5. Now click the downward pointing arrow next to the Stamps gallery to view it as a dropdown gallery that shows even more thumbnail previews, as shown in Figure 5. Choose the Organize Stamps option -- you'll find this at the bottom of the dropdown gallery.

  6. If you are adding stamps for the first time, this brings up the Custom Stamps Folder dialog box as shown in Figure 6 -- here you can choose a folder to save all your custom stamps.

Choose the default folder provided -- or set the folder location and click OK.

Note: The Custom Stamps Folder will prompt only the first time you click the Organize Stamps option -- it won't appear any other time thereafter when you click the Organize Stamps option -- you'll get straight to the Organize Stamps window that I discuss next..

  7. This opens the Organize Stamps window (see Figure 7) -- here you can install your new PNGs that you downloaded from this site as stamps. Now click the Add Category button (highlighted in red in Figure 7)

  8. This brings up the Add New Category dialog box as shown in Figure 8.

Here enter a descriptive name for this new category -- and then, click OK to get back to Organize Stamps window.

  9. You can now see that your new category has been created and added to the Categories list on the left (see Figure 9). Now click the Add Stamp button (highlighted in red).

  10. This opens the Choose Stamps To Add window as shown in Figure 10 -- navigate to the folder were you have unzipped the downloaded PNGs.

Select the first PNG, and click Open.

  11. Repeat steps 9 and 10 to add more PNGs as stamps -- Figure 11 shows how all the new PNGs stamps have been added as SnagIt stamps within the Organize Stamps window.

Click the Close button to get back to SnagIt Editor interface.

  12. With your Stamp tool still selected, open the Stamps gallery to choose the new stamps category you added -- as shown in Figure 12 -- this shows you all stamps within the category inside a dropdown-flyout gallery.
